The earlier young people develop friendships within the church, the more likely they are to stay committed and grow in their faith. That’s the philosophy behind Sparks, our 4th and 5th grade youth group, which meets regularly for fun and fellowship during the school year.
We meet periodically for a fellowship activity or service project, and a devotional. It is so important to connect students early with the Christian Gospel and a community of fellow believers. Some highlights of last year included Outdoor Movie Night, tubing, Games Day/Rock Band at church, Nerf Wars, fall cleanup projects for church members and ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ at East Towne Mall.
“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 3:12)
SPARK the Flame Kick-Off Event Join us on Sunday, September 15, from 12:30pm to 2:30pm for our SPARK the Flame Kick-Off event! We’ll start with subs for lunch and get into some classic youth group games like Dragon Tales, Kleenex Box coin race, Chair Ball, and more! Our devotion will tie into the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which will be our theme verse for each youth group event this year. Hope you can join the fun!
Eugster’s Farm Fall Festival Day On Sunday, October 6, let’s trek to Eugster’s Farm in Stoughton for their Fall Festival Day! We will leave from church at noon for anyone who would like to carpool, but entire families are invited to join for this one too! If your family attends, you are welcome to stay for as long as you would like to. Cost is $10.50/person and includes wagon rides, puppet shows, corn mazes, and more! The smell of fall will be in the air…don’t miss it!
Nerf Wars IT’S TIME AGAIN for our annual Nerf Wars battle! Meet in the fellowship hall at church on Friday, November 1 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We will have pizza for lunch and then get into game mode for a crazy battle like none other! Some Nerf guns are available at church, but you are encouraged to bring your own as well. Parents can join in the fun too! This is always a favorite…don’t make the mistake of missing out!
