The earlier young people develop friendships within the church, the more likely they are to stay committed and grow in their faith. That’s the philosophy behind Sparks, our 4th and 5th grade youth group, which meets regularly for fun and fellowship during the school year.
We typically meet every other month for a fellowship activity or service project, and a devotional. It is so important to connect students early with the Christian Gospel and a community of fellow believers. Some highlights of last year included Outdoor Movie Night, tubing, Games Day/Rock Band at church, Nerf Wars, fall cleanup projects for church members and ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ at East Towne Mall.
“Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 3:12)
Sparks Christmas Party * December 3 * 12:30pm—2:30pm
It’s never too early to start partying or having a holly jolly Christmas. Our Christmas Party will be on Sunday, December 3 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Due to the Advent by Candlelight event at
church, this party will be outside the sanctuary. Pastor Steve and parent volunteers will have all sorts of festive activities and Christmas-themed games planned. We will also put together
a Christmas decoration/ornament for the homebound members of our congregation.
Sparks On Ice * January 7 *
Bring a friend or bring the whole family for “Sparks on Ice” at the Sun Prairie Ice Rink. Tentatively plan to join the fun on January 7. It’s still too early to know the exact time, but open skates are most often from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Cost is $5/person and $3 for skate rental. If the whole family attends there is a family rate of $20 (skate rentals included).
