We meet about twice a month. We spend our time in high-energy fellowship and strive to provide a come-as-you-are, safe and welcoming atmosphere where students can gather with fellow Christians, have fun and be nourished in their walk with Christ. We are fully aware that it is difficult to be faithful as a young adult in our culture today, so we work to equip and encourage our students. Our goal in whatever we do — service projects, Bible studies, fellowship events, hanging out — is to relish in our God-given gift of faith and grow together in Christ.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
School’s out for summer!!! That may be true, but our SoulFire youth group is going strong! We have several fun events—most of which came via the recommendation of our students. All of these SoulFire events are offered for our soon-to-be freshman (9th grade) through our graduating seniors.
Sunday Morning Power Hour
We know plants and people need certain elements to grow. But what does a teenager’s faith need to grow? To grow a dynamic faith, teenagers must know God and His ways. They must understand what God expects of His people. And they must be able to see the world through the lens of God and His character. In a world increasingly opposed to the things of God, where can students go to find the necessary truths to cultivate a vibrant faith?
Our 9th-12th grade students will spend our 9:15am Power Hour with a new study called: “Amplify.” This is a powerful study that equips students to grow a dynamic faith by studying core spiritual truths. We know your kids are busy trying to balance school with work schedules, sports and a social calendar. Please encourage your kids to be there. Let your church come alongside you to help your child grow a faith that lasts!
Youth Room Work Day on May 19 from 6pm to 8pm
We will have another work day in the youth room, and we’ll play some games too! (Note: This is Confirmation Sunday).
Cookout & Brain Break on June 2 from 6pm to 8pm
The end of the school year can be a drag, so…take a break! We’re inviting all eighth grade students to join the high school group from 6pm to 8pm for a cookout dinner and a brain break! Let’s have fun getting to know some new faces! We’ll play some games, but this is really an opportunity for you to hang out and relax.
