Where did we get the name, CrossFire? Ephesians 6:16 says, “…take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” We need to keep our faith in Jesus strong, because Satan is trying his best to break us. Our faith, our hope, and our trust in Jesus will remain strong when we stay connected to Him. CrossFire is a place where we know our faith will not be compromised in the activities we do and the friends we maintain. Jesus conquered those flaming arrows for us with his death on the cross and resurrection. We’re gonna live for Him!
This youth group is for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, and meets periodically throughout the school year for fun, fellowship and community service activities.
“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16)
“Swimming & Subs” on January 20
Swimming in January?? If you’ve got a bad “eeling” about this, don’t fret! Join us on January 20 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm for some warm swimming time. Subs will be provided for lunch! RSVP to Pastor Steve or DCE Jan.
Late Night Fun on February 15
On Friday, February 15, we will have a CrossFire Late Night (Lockin-ish). Instead of a sleepless, 14-hour all-nighter, we are going to have Concordia students come for late-night fun that will begin at 6pm and and end at 12am. We will still have all kinds of lock-in type fun but this will enable students to participate even if they have band, basketball, or whatever else the next day. Plus your kids (and Pastor Steve and Jan!) will not be completely lethargic, worthless and sleep their Saturday away. No cost and friends are welcome! We only ask that each bring a treat to share—guys bring something salty, girls bring something sweet. RSVP to Pastor Steve or DCE Jan.
Confirmation Classes for 7th & 8th Grade Students
Our confirmation program is designed to instruct and engage students with the beliefs of the Lutheran church and highlight the always-present relevancy of God’s Word to our lives. Confirmation years are a process in which students are encouraged and nurtured to take ownership of their faith. For more information, please contact us.
