Where did we get the name, CrossFire? Ephesians 6:16 says, “…take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” We need to keep our faith in Jesus strong, because Satan is trying his best to break us. Our faith, our hope, and our trust in Jesus will remain strong when we stay connected to Him. CrossFire is a place where we know our faith will not be compromised in the activities we do and the friends we maintain. Jesus conquered those flaming arrows for us with his death on the cross and resurrection. We’re gonna live for Him!
This youth group is for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, and meets periodically throughout the school year for fun, fellowship and community service activities.
“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16)
Activities this Fall
Entering the CROSSFIRE Going back to school can be a drag…so come to our Entering the CROSSFIRE event on Sunday, September 29, from 4pm to 6pm. This will be the best way to start the year! We’ll play games like Feet Pictionary, Pass the Lifesaver, Don’t Step on the Eggs, and more! Our devotion will tie into the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which will be our theme verse for each youth group event this year. Everyone attending is asked to bring one snack to share. Hope you can make it!
DIY Mini Golf Day Some CrossFire youth went mini golfing this summer, and now it’s time to put it in your hands! Join us on Sunday, October 20, from 4pm to 6pm for DIY Mini Golf Day! In light of our Rube Goldberg Day last year, we’ll be creating our own mini golf course at church and using many different supplies to do so. Some will make their hole pretty easy to get a ball into, and others will make it ridiculously difficult. Are you up for the challenge?!?
Hyland Park Fall/Thanksgiving-Themed Party It’s always a good time to serve our neighbor. On Sunday, November 17, join us from 2:30pm to 4pm for a Fall/Thanksgiving themed party that we’ll host at Hyland Park Senior Living in Sun Prairie. Youth will have the opportunity to engage with senior citizens through playing games, conversation, and eating a sweet treat. Parent volunteers will also be needed. Don’t miss a chance to put a smile on someone’s face!
