We offer a number of ways to serve, both within our congregation and in our community.
Christmas Decoration Set Up/Take Down at Bethlehem
Please plan to help decorate the church for Christmas on Sunday, November 26, following the late worship services. The more hands we have, the quicker the work and decorating will go. This is also a great way for confirmation students to earn service hours. Please sign up at the Purpose Place or talk with one of the pastors.
And after Christmas, please help us take down decorations on Sunday, January 7, following the late worship services. We will take down and pack up the Christmas decorations throughout the church. Any and all members who can help will be greatly appreciated!
Angel Tree – Expressing the love of Christ to Children and Families of Prisoners

Spirit of Giving – Gifts for Area Children on Christmas Morning
Members are encouraged to participate in the “Spirit of Giving” program, connected with the Sunshine Place. This program that ensures that more than 1,200 area children receive gifts under their trees on Christmas morning. We have received the “wish lists” of 60 Sun Prairie children, so look for the ornaments on the Christmas tree in the Narthex on November 19. Be sure to sign your name next to the child(ren) whose ornament(s) you’ve chosen to sponsor. (The wish list log is located on the Visitor’s Center.) Please do not wrap the present. A gift receipt is welcome. Attach the ornament to the outside of the gift or bag. Hand deliver any gift cards to our office staff. Please stay in the price range of $25 – $35. To distribute gifts on time, return your gift to the Christmas tree by Monday, December 4. Last year, the community as a whole sponsored 1200 children. Thank you so much for your generosity! You are making a difference to a child right here in our community!
Sun Prairie Food Pantry Christmas Concert – December 1
Bethlehem has been invited to participate in the annual Sun Prairie Food Pantry Christmas Concert on Friday December 1 at 7:00pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church. (All proceeds benefit the food pantry.)
Sharing Your Musical Talents at Bethlehem
God has richly blessed our congregation with His gift of music. Both our contemporary and traditional services have had special music: organ, piano, percussion, guitar, brass and more; as well as duets, solos, the choir and the praise team. Thank you to all volunteers for your special music skills during worship services this year—for weekly worship, festival services like Easter, Reformation, as well as the Christmas season. If you sing or play an instrument, whether you attend contemporary or traditional worship, please let us know so your gifts can be part of our church worship as we “PRAISE THE LORD!” So as the wise men brought their gifts to the Savior, we too, can bring the special gifts God has given us and use to His Glory!
Serve a Sunshine Supper – February 5
The Sunshine Supper is served every Monday evening, 5:30 pm-6:30 pm. It is free and provided to people living in the Sun Prairie area. The goal is to provide a good hot meal to those who may go without and provide a place to gather around the dinner table for friendship and fellowship. Meals are prepared and served by civic, church and professional groups. Bethlehem provides and serves the dinner the first Monday in February, June and October. Sign-up sheets are posted three weeks ahead of time for food donations and volunteer sign-up. To set-up, serve and clean-up, we need 28 volunteers from 4:30pm to 7pm on the Monday of the dinner. Our next dinner night is Monday, February 5. Food donation and volunteer signup sheets will be posted in the main hallway by January 14. Please consider helping Bethlehem “shine Christ” right here in our community!
