This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Family Fun Days

During the school year, Pastor Steve coordinates various fun activities for families with young children.

College Planning Seminar, March 23

The Board of Christian Education invites you to a college planning seminar.  On March 23, we invite ALL FAMILIES with children age 0 to 18 because it's never too early or too late to be prepping for the future. Our conversation will be led by guest speaker, Tom Kleese (founder, On Campus College Planning). There's no denying the benefits of college education, but every year the costs increase.  That's why it is so important to start saving now!  Stay for the first hour, come only for the second hour, or stick around for them both!  Sign up at the Purpose Place. Please contact Karen Newquist or Pastor Steve with questions. See below...

For Families with Young Children
The first hour is geared toward families with young kids.  College may be 10-18 years away, but how can you start planning NOW for their future?  What are the best ways to save?  Are you saving enough?  Are grades important?  How can your kids establish life-long study habits?  How do you set kids up for success?  What are reasonable expectations?  How do we plan/invest so we have resources available when needed?

For Families of High School Students
The second hour is geared for families that are staring at college head-on.  In this session we will look at things like ACT test prep, college search counseling, essay & interview coaching, applications guidance, financial aid, college costs, and more.  We will also spend a few minutes in devotion wrestling with the question-how can I know my kid will stay Christian in college?

Easter Eggstravaganza, April 1

This is no joke. We are not fooling around. Our annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be on Saturday morning, April 1. As always, we will have all kinds of fun activities planned for families to hop around to. We will have numerous Easter crafts and games; we will have cookies to frost and decorate, and we will have egg dying (please bring your own hard-boiled eggs). And of course an Easter egg hunt will take place as we have hundreds of plastic eggs yet to be filled with candy!  Pastor Steveis always looking for help when it comes to events like this, so parents please don't be shy about reaching out to him.
